A fast map for self-drive safaris in Kruger National Park that keeps working without mobile signal. It shows 1,852 places from OpenStreetMap — all 20 SANParks camps, 9 entrance gates, picnic sites, hides, viewpoints and 948 waterholes and dams — on the park’s public road network with its H- and S-road numbers.
Yes. Install the map as an app (web app / PWA); the app and its place and road data are then stored on your device. The detailed basemap can be downloaded once over Wi-Fi, so the map keeps working where there is no mobile reception — GPS works without a network.
Camps, gates, picnic sites, hides, waterholes and roads come from OpenStreetMap (ODbL). The 20 official SANParks camps are matched to their OpenStreetMap entries; some facilities are derived from nearby mapped places and are labelled as such.
The gate-time warning uses the December times: camp gates open at 04:30, entrance gates at 05:30, and all gates close at 18:30. Gate times change during the year — always check the current times with SANParks.
Routes follow the public roads of the park. The time assumes an average game-drive speed of 25 km/h, never above the speed limit (50 km/h on tar, 40 km/h on gravel). You can change the speed in the planner.
